Shambhala Vision Campaign:

The Sakyong Foundation, in collaboration with Shambhala, offered a $100,000 challenge grant for the Shambhala Vision campaign. This campaign was part of a move towards a more integrated approach to finance and fundraising in Shambhala, and expressed support for key priorities the Sakyong highlighted for the year.

Funds raised through the Shambhala Vision campaign contributed to the following four projects:

Shambhala Lineage thangka

A unique depiction of the Shambhala lineage tree, commissioned by the Sakyong from a team of artists led by pre-eminent thangka painter Ngoedup Rongae. Learn more »

Scorpion Seal retreat cabins

Funded the initial phase of construction of a retreat cabin at one of Shambhala’s rural meditation centers in Vermont, Karmê Chöling. Architecture by Gina Stick.

Kalapa Centre in Halifax

Funded the initial phase of planning for a complex initiative intended to be created in partnership with Nova Scotia, as well as to be the central seat for the Sakyong, to house senior Shambhala staff and to be an international gathering place for Shambhala’s global community.

Shambhala Mountain Center

Funded  state-mandated infrastructure improvements at one of Shambhala’s retreat centers located on 600-acres in northern Colorado. Learn more »
